30+ volunteers dress up to star in new Tasmanian movie

Dozens of Midlands residents have dressed in their best Scottish fits this afternoon to take part in a new movie being filmed around Oatlands.

The 30+ volunteer extras were filmed walking down a hill for one of the final scenes of Ancestry Road, which is set to be released early next year.

The movie is set in Scotland, and is being filmed mostly around Oatlands and Campbell Town.

Bowhill Grange, a collection of cottages located 5 minutes west of Oatlands on Bowhill Road, features prominently.

Ancestry Road features a strong mainland cast, including Jessica Stanley and Seb Muirhead, alongside a group of Tasmanian actors – including John X and Gillian Unicomb.
