Wild weather that swept through through Tasmania overnight has left 169 properties in Strahan and a further 400+ across the state without power this morning.
TasNetworks are predicting that many locations may not have power until late Wednesday afternoon while crews battle the weather to restore connectivity.
Meanwhile, people in the North-West region may have to wait a little longer for power, with a restoration date and time still to be confirmed and “long delays” expected.
“The outages are mostly caused by wet and windy weather bringing down lines,” TasNetworks say.

“Our crews will work hard into the night to restore power as soon as possible.”
“Please stay at least 10 metres clear of fallen lines or other damage, and report it to us on 132004.”
