A 70-year-old motorcyclist has died following a crash south of Longford on Boxing Day.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Brickendon Street and Woolmers Lane shortly before 12:30pm on Thursday.
Police said a white Toyota Hilux towing farm machinery was turning right from Brickendon Street when the motorcycle collided with the rear of the vehicle.
The motorcyclist was rushed to Launceston General Hospital in a critical condition, where they later died.
The driver of the ute was not injured.
“Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the deceased,” police said.
“Anyone who saw the Toyota or motorcycle prior to the crash is asked to contact police on 131 444 or provide information through Crime Stoppers Tasmania.”
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
