The days of the 9/11 bottleshop brand in Tasmania are coming to a close as new owners Coles begin their statewide rebrand.

Federal Group sold all 20 9/11 stores to the supermarket giant in early 2024 for an undisclosed amount.

Coles launched the first Liquorland store in Tasmania in August 2022, alongside a new supermarket at Glebe Hill Village.

The first rebranding plans lodged with the City of Hobart detail changes to signage that Coles hopes to make as soon as possible.

The minor updates to four 9/11 outlets at the Gasworks, New Town and Sandy Bay will go up for approval at a council meeting in the coming weeks.

In February, Coles Liquor CEO Michael Courtney said the acquisition “demonstrates the confidence” they have in Tasmania.

“We’re looking forward to continuing on the great 9/11 legacy by supporting local suppliers and the community and providing great value and excellent service,” he said.

All staff will be offered continued employment at the rebranded Liquorland outlets.
