The Adelaide 36ers’ pre-season road trip to Tasmania has been called off due to bad weather, leaving fans in the North and North West disappointed.
The team were scheduled to play games in Ulverstone on Sunday and Launceston on Tuesday.
36ers Manager Matt Weston said the decision to return to Adelaide was made when the club was informed that travelling to Tasmania on Sunday was “not assured”.
“It’s really disappointing that the weather has stopped this trip from going ahead, the team were looking forward to playing their first two pre-season matches,” Weston said.
A JackJumpers spokesperson said the team is “still committed” to their northern fans.
Instead of the cancelled games, the JackJumpers will host an intrasquad game.
“Head Coach Scott Roth will address all fans and give some behind-the-scenes insight into the game and plans for the season ahead,” they said.
“Fans will have an opportunity to meet the players post-game.”
