Anonymous tips from members of the public have recently led to dozens of significant drug seizures, including a haul of methamphetamine valued at around $700,000.
Crime Stoppers Tasmania Chairman David Daniels said the methamphetamine bust stopped close to 1kg of the drug making it to our streets, with the anonymous tipster now eligible for a reward.
“We understand that people who are aware or involved in the illicit drug trade may not want to deal directly with police but still want to speak up”, said Daniels.
“These tips are among the many that are valuable to us and provide vital information to police investigations.”
“What has stood out with these featured tips is that they included photos or video as a form of evidence.”
Other recent tips received by Crime Stoppers resulted in the seizure of over 100 cannabis plants and various drug tablets, 3kg of cocaine, 540 cannabis plants and nearly 77kg of cannabis.
