A serial drink driver with previous alcohol-related offences has been caught drunk behind the wheel again.

The disqualified 41-year-old man from Primrose Sands was caught driving almost five times over the legal limit in North Hobart on Wednesday.

Hobart Police Sergeant Angus Dobner said the man was pulled over for a random breath test at around 6:45pm last night, where he returned a breath analysis result of 0.245 – 4.90x the legal limit.

“It is disappointing that people continue to put the community at risk as a result of their selfish behaviour,” Dobner said.

“Police are out on the roads every day enforcing the rules to keep our community safe, and we will continue to do everything we can to stop illegal and dangerous driving occurring.”

The man will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court in October.
