‘Avoid smoke’ warning issued as late-night bushfire burns in Burnie

The Tasmania Fire Service have issued an ‘avoid smoke’ warning as a late-night bushfire burns in Burnie.

The blaze on Curraghmore Avenue in Shorewell Park was reported around 9:30pm on Saturday.

The TFS say the smoke alert applies to people in the View Road, Park Grove, Montello and north to Burnie CBD areas.

“There is a bushfire at View Road Reserve and dog play area. There is no threat to communities,” they say.

“There is expected to be smoke, ash and embers from this fire visible around [the area].”
