A young man has been charged with assault after a baby was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
The infant, whose age has not been released, was taken to the Launceston General Hospital for treatment around 1pm on Saturday.

Police attended the hospital and arrested a 21-year-old man from St Leonards shortly after.
He has been charged with criminal code assault and “bailed on strict conditions” to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court at a later date.
The baby’s injuries are understood to be non-life-threatening.
