A Bagdad man allegedly caught with unregistered guns and a Tasmania Police uniform has fronted the Hobart Magistrates Court.
Lochiel Raymond Brown has been hit with roughly 100 charges, including various firearms-related offences, which include trafficking in firearms, possession of stolen firearms and 16 counts of possessing unregistered firearms.
The 63-year-old is also charged with 5 counts of impersonating a police officer, 13 counts of failing to comply with conditions specified on a licence and is also accused supplying a gun to someone he knew was under a prohibition order.
It is alleged that Brown was in possession of stolen or unlawfully obtained Tasmania Police buttons, a black jacket, a cap, SAF-LOK handcuffs, three helmets, two vests and three ballistic plates.
Court documents from June show the alleged offending took place between July 2022 and December 14 2022.
Yesterday, the court heard Brown’s lawyer only receive disclosure of relevant documents from the prosecution on Monday.
The matter has been adjourned until September 7th.
