Biotech company Marinova crowned Tasmanian Exporter of the Year

Marinova has been crowned Tasmanian Exporter of the Year

A Tasmanian biotechnology company specialising in compounds from brown seaweed has been crowned the 2024 Tasmanian Exporter of the Year.

Cambridge based Marinova was recognised for its innovation, resilience and global success in the seaweed industry.

Marinova exports its products to the United States, Taiwan, Germany, Malaysia and New Zealand.

Premier Jeremy Rockliff praised Marinova’s contribution to the state’s economy and its role in promoting Tasmania on the world stage.

Marinova has been crowned Tasmanian Exporter of the Year

“This Tasmanian company is a fantastic example of a pioneering, world-leading organisation that is showcasing its products and services to the world,” he said.

As the world leader in fucoidan science, Marinova specialises in the research, development and production of highly bioactive seaweed extracts for human health.

Marinova has been crowned Tasmanian Exporter of the Year

The company’s win at the Tasmanian Export Awards gives them access to a grant of up to $10,000 to attend an international trade show or event, or join a Government trade mission.

Marinova will also represent Tasmania at the National Export Awards in Canberra on November 20.
