A person has been rushed to hospital after a Lutana boat shed went up in flames on Easter Sunday afternoon.

Tasmania Fire Service crews from Glenorchy and Hobart are currently working to contain the blaze near Gepp Parade.

The area has been closed to all traffic between Lampton Avenue and Howard Road and people are being asked to avoid the area.

Large plums of black smoke can been seen across the Lutana and Derwent Park areas.

“There is no threat to the general public,” the TFS said.

“People who don’t need to be in the immediate area should stay away.”
