A police investigation has been launched after a trail of blood was found through Hobart’s CBD overnight, causing concern among city-goers.
The blood is believed to be connected to an incident involving a 15-year-old youth who sustained a leg laceration in the Elizabeth Street Mall shortly before midnight on Friday.
The teenager then walked to the Royal Hobart Hospital, leaving a trail of blood through Liverpool and Argyle Streets.
An eyewitness at the scene around 12:40am reported seeing “police tape everywhere”.
Police say those involved in the incident are known to each other and there was “no risk to the public”.
“[The teenager] was assessed and treated for non-life-threatening injuries,” police said.
