The body of a man has been discovered in the waters of Boundary Bay, Great Lake today, following a devastating boating incident yesterday.
Police divers made the discovery around 11.40am this morning, close to the location where the victim was reported missing yesterday.
Though the man’s identity has not yet been confirmed, authorities believe he is the 50 year old Sheffield resident who was reported missing after his boat was found unmanned in the area.

A concerned bystander alerted the authorities to the situation at 12:40pm yesterday, and a massive search effort was launched involving land, sea, and air resources.
The local community has shown immense support and assistance throughout the search efforts, to which the police have expressed their gratitude.
“Our thoughts are with the man’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.”
A report will be prepared for the coroner as the investigation into the incident continues.
