The body of a young man has been pulled from the water on Hobart’s waterfront after he fell from a vessel docked at Sullivans Cove overnight.
The man, believed to be in his early 20s, was reported missing by crewmates at about 3:55am on Tuesday after he apparently went overboard.

Police and emergency services launched an immediate search of the area, with divers deployed near Castray Esplanade as daylight broke.
His body was found just before 7:45am, nearly four hours after he was first reported missing.

Tasmania Police have not publicly identified the man or named the vessel involved.
Inspector John Toohey is expected to provide further details later this morning.

The circumstances surrounding the man’s death are yet to be determined.
