A elderly man has died two weeks after the car he was travelling in left the road and crashed into a paddock in Tasmania’s north-west.

The Toyota Landcruiser came off West Mooreville Road at Mooreville, south west of Burnie, about 5:15am on March 2.

The 75-year-old man was rushed to the North West Regional Hospital before being transferred to the Royal Hobart Hospital, where he has since died.

The driver, 63, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Tasmania Police have seized the vehicle for forensic examination as they investigate the cause of the single-vehicle crash.

A report is being prepared for the coroner.
