Children at a Bridgewater early learning centre have been left without a van after it was deliberately set on fire earlier this month.
A 33-year-old man from Bridgewater has been charged by police with burglary, stealing, and unlawfully setting fire to property after an incident at the Discovery Early Learning Centre in the early hours of May 3rd.
According to police, the accused man broke into the centre’s van and stole various items before returning a short time later and setting fire to the vehicle, completely destroying it.
The total value of the destroyed van and its contents is estimated to be over $100,000.
The man, who was arrested overnight, has been charged and will appear in court today.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward and contact Bridgewater Police or Crimestoppers.
