A school in Burnie was placed under lockdown on Friday afternoon as police searched for a man in relation to an ‘isolated incident’ nearby.
The North West Support School at Acton went into lockdown as a precaution, the Department of Education, Children and Young People said.

Tasmania Police said officers were in the area of Tilley Street looking for the man.
“As a precaution a number of facilities activated lock down procedures until the search for the man was completed,” police said.
“There is no risk to the wider community.”
