A burst water main has flooded part of Bathurst Street in Hobart’s CBD, the second to hit the city centre in a week.
Police have closed Bathurst Street between Elizabeth and Argyle streets, with water gushing past cars on the partially flooded road.
Argyle Street is open to traffic after police initially closed part of it shortly before 11:50pm on Sunday.
Motorists have been asked to avoid the area until the problem is fixed.
TasWater has been notified and crews are responding.

Police said the road would reopen when it was safe.
Last Monday, a burst water main at the corner of Liverpool and Criterion streets cut the water supply to some nearby businesses and forced several cafes to close.
TasWater said a failed fitting caused that burst.
