A bushfire in Tasmania’s Highlands has sparked an advice warning this afternoon, urging people to ‘monitor conditions’, as temperatures in the area near 30 degrees.
The Tasmania Fire Service say the blaze is currently burning around the Little Blue Hill area, north-west of Bothwell and while there is “no immediate threat”, those in the area north east of Osterley should monitor conditions.
“Monitor conditions, and if they get more dangerous, and you are not well prepared, plan to go to a safer place,” the TFS say.
Firefighters are currently battling the blaze and expect conditions to be changeable.
Temperatures in nearby Ouse were forecast to reach 30 degrees today, with the BOM recording the area sitting at 27.8 degrees at 3pm.
The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
