A busy and vital link in Hobart will close for almost four weeks from Tuesday while major safety works are undertaken.
The month-long $850,000 Proctors Road project includes a new rockfall fence, improved line markings and guardrails, alongside road repairs and resurfacing.
The City of Hobart say the upgrades are needed due to the high number of crashes on the road, with 48 reported in the past five years.
Work is expected to be completed by February 6, with cars needing to use the Southern Outlet in the interim.
