Both Canterbury hockey teams are brimming with confidence as they believe their best performances are yet to come.
The men’s side recently got their Premiership defense back on track with a crucial 4-3 victory against Derwent, putting them just one point outside the top four.
On the other hand, the women’s team is determined to challenge the high-flying Northwest Grads in their upcoming match.
Midfielder Lachlan Rogers emphasized the team’s need to convert scoring opportunities and improve their efficiency in front of goal.

“A lot of our games have been very close. If we can start converting and being efficient up front, we’re confident that we can take any team” Lachie said.
Meanwhile, the Canterbury women’s team is eager to avenge their previous loss to the Northwest Grads.

Despite an unfortunate defeat in the final minute of their first encounter, the women’s team managed to bounce back and secure a victory in their most recent clash, winning by a single goal.
“We were unfortunate to lose in the last minute the first time we played them, and then last round we did beat them by a goal which was really good so we definitely bring that confidence into the game,” said Women’s left midfielder, Sarah Wilson-Haffeden.
