A car has ripped a power pole from the ground after a crash in the Launceston suburb of Newstead this afternoon.
Police say the Hoblers Bridge Road crash has brought down power lines are left the road ‘completely blocked’.

Images taken from the scene by Northern Tasmania Emergency Media show the car on the kerb, with the power pole and lines down on the road.
Members of the public are asked to avoid the area whilst the incident is resolved.
