A maroon Ford Falcon has been impounded by Tasmania Police officers after it was seen engaging in reckless and dangerous driving in the Greenbanks Industrial Estate north of Hobart last night.
The Bridgewater driver is expected to be charged with multiple traffic offenses, including speeding and performing dangerous maneuvers such as burnouts or fishtailing.
In addition to the traffic violations, the vehicle was also given a defect notice due to its faulty rear tires, loud exhaust, and excessive oil leaks.
According to Inspector Philippa Burk, complaints about reckless driving and hooning in the Greenbanks Industrial Estate and the nearby suburb of Tea Tree are unfortunately common.
This type of behavior can disrupt the peace and safety of the community and can easily lead to serious accidents.
Inspector Burk emphasised that police will continue to actively patrol areas where this type of behaviour is known to occur and that offenders can expect to be arrested and have their vehicles seized.
