CCTV appeal in Smithton as search for missing man continues

Police are asking Smithton residents to check their CCTV systems as the search for a 47-year-old man missing from the north-west town continues.

Craig was last seen in the Smithton township around 12:40pm on Saturday, September 26.

“Over the past week police have conducted a number of searches in Smithton and the surrounding area to locate Craig,” Acting Inspector Martin Parker said.

Western Marine, Western Search & Rescue, the SES and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter have helped police with the search this week.

Search and rescue crews and SES members have combed bushland around greater Smithton and the Duck River.

Craig is described as tall, with brown eyes and grey hair that is short or shaven at the sides. He usually wears reflective sunglasses.

When he was last seen, he was wearing a yellow and navy high-vis long-sleeved shirt, dark pants and dark shoes.

Police and his family are concerned for his welfare. They have asked that if Craig knows a search is under way, he “make contact to let people know he is ok”.

Smithton residents whose CCTV covers footpaths and streets are asked to review footage from the afternoon of September 26 for a man matching his description.

Anyone who has seen Craig since September 26 or knows where he is, is asked to contact police and quote ESCAD 105-29092026.
