A Tasmanian chocolatier and the brainchild behind the states very own House of Anvers chocolate museum has officially been awarded as having the world’s best chocolate book.

Igor Van Gerwen has this week secured the ‘Best Chocolate Book in the World’ title at the 29th annual Gourmand International Cookbook Awards for ‘Chocolatier’.

“It is a great honour for my book to be recognised by the leaders and judges in the culinary literature world,” Van Gerwen said as he accepted the award in Saudi Arabia.

The book describes Van Gerwen’s lifelong passion and the decades he dedicated to uncovering the ancient secrets of cacao and learning the craft of making great chocolate.
