Police are investigating a suspected arson attack at a social housing property in Clarendon Vale overnight.
Emergency services were called to the Mission Australia-owned property after smoke was discovered coming from beneath the kitchen floor around 10:30pm
The residence, worth approximately $400,000, is likely to be demolished due to the heavy fire, smoke and water damage it sustained.
The property was vacant at the time of the incident.
“Police urge members of the public to come forward with any information regarding this incident,” Sergeant Adrian Mollon said.
“We rely heavily on the community for information. That one piece of information could be the one piece that identifies the offender/s.”
The investigation is ongoing.
