It’s a cold and wet start to October today as a cool front hits Tasmania, bringing winds and showers for the first day of the month.
The rain is welcomed as El Nino strengthens, but the Bureau of Meteorology are predicting less rain than many could like.

Showers are expected to hover around the western parts of the state all day today, with the possibility of extending to Hobart for a period of time.
Gale warnings and strong wind warnings have been issued for various coastal areas including the Central North Coast, Banks Strait and Franklin Sound, East of Flinders Island and Lower East Coast.
