A Tasmanian man is on the hunt for his “beloved green beanie” that went missing around Hobart.

Alex Deegan says the beanie holds great sentimental value as he has travelled the world with it and originally purchased it in Ireland over six years ago, before it was lost around August/September this year.

“I know it’s a silly little story, but I know it’s one that resonates a lot with people,” he told Pulse.

“I’m a sentimental soul and I know there are others out there like me.”

Alex says this photo was sent to him from someone in Hobart, but he’s not sure if it’s his

Deegan said he has received a few calls from people who believe they have spotted the beanie on Goulburn Street and Melville Street.

“It was lost most likely somewhere in Hobart. I’ve gone through my financial records and contacted a bunch of places I’ve been,” he said.

“Most likely left it someplace whilst at some kind of business, but who knows, could have fallen out of my pocket or something.”

He is offering a $200 cash reward for its safe return.

“It’s worth quite a bit more to me than that though,” he said.

“Hopefully there’s a happy ending to this story.”
