A Howrah family has lost everything after a devastating fire tore through their double-storey unit on Tuesday night.
The blaze engulfed the Clifford Court home of a 30-year-old man and his elderly parents, both in their seventies, around 8:30pm.
One of the occupants raised the alarm after hearing a smoke detector go off, with all three residents managing to escape the burning building.
They were treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.

One person was treated for smoke inhalation, the Tasmania Fire Service said.
Family friend Aimen Jafri has launched a fundraising campaign to help the family start rebuilding their lives.

She said the fire destroyed all of their possessions and their car.
“In just moments, everything they owned, their clothes, memories and cherished belongings was destroyed in the flames,” Jafri said.
“This is a family who has always shown kindness to others. Now, they need our help.”
The fundraiser will help cover temporary accommodation and replace essential items lost in the fire.

A collection point for donations has been set up at Unit 20, 4 Clifford Court, with immediate needs including clothing for three adults, towels, toiletries and shoes.
“As they return to face the reality of having nothing, we’re calling on our Tasmanian community to come together in the spirit of compassion and generosity,” Jafri said.
“Every dollar makes a difference. Every gesture matters.”
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
