Country Style editor Kylie Imeson described the edition as “a love letter of sorts to my favourite state to visit and one I hope to live in one day”.

“I take great pleasure in sharing stories from the Apple Isle: how people are making a living there; what they are doing creatively; uniquely Tasmanian holiday accommodation options; and an amazing coastal town to add to your Tassie itinerary,” she said.

The cover features Piermont Retreat on Great Oyster Bay, while inside readers will find a local’s guide to Bicheno, homes on Bruny Island and Orford, a ceramics studio in the Huon Valley and a fashion shoot at The Wooden Boat Centre in Franklin.

The edition also features a story on up-and-coming Tasmanian winemakers, with Imeson saying a visit to the Great Eastern Wine Week Festival left a strong impression.

“It got me thinking that Tasmania’s nickname should be changed from the Apple Isle to the Wine Isle, such is the quality of its sparkling, riesling, chardonnay and pinot noir,” she said.

The festival returns this year from October 22 to 25.

The August edition also includes a competition offering readers the chance to win a five-night Tasmanian holiday valued at up to $6398.

“While this issue is dedicated to Tasmanian content, I also dedicate it to you, the Country Style reader, as well as our greater audience on social media, the website and via newsletter,” she said.
