Police have arrested a wild 44yo woman who was allegedly day-drunk behind the wheel on the Huon Highway this afternoon.
The Franklin woman returned a breath alcohol reading nearly 6 times the legal limit around 1:35pm and was instantly disqualified, according to Police.
She was arrested, had her licence automatically disqualified, and will appear before the Hobart Magistrates Court at a later date.
A 45yo already-disqualified Shearwater man was also arrested last night after he was allegedly caught nearly 5x the legal alcohol limit on William Street in Devonport.
He appeared before an after hours sitting at the Devonport Magistrates Court.
Police are urging all drivers to remember that drink driving is one of the Fatal Five contributing factors to fatal and serious injury crashes on the roads.
“Police will continue to be out on the roads, all across the state, looking out for all Tasmanian road users – because we want everyone to get home safe,” a spokesperson said.
