A cyclist has been hit by a car while riding alongside the Tasman Highway at Sorell this evening.
Police say the 45-year-old male rider was injured in the crash around 6:30pm on Wednesday.

It is understood the cyclist, who was travelling towards Hobart at the time of the incident, has since been transported to hospital.
Traffic is currently moving slowly past the scene, with motorists advised to take care on the road.
