The National Live Music Awards have returned after a two year COVID hiatus, with over 60 awards presented nationally.
Hobart’s annual Dark Mofo festival, having previously won 6 NLMA’s, was crowned the Best Live Event (National) and the Best Live Event (Tasmania).
It comes after organisers last month announced Dark Mofo would “pause” for 2024 while they take a “period of renewal”.
“We want to make sure that we have a festival that continues to deliver incredible art and artists, that continues to expand its artistic boundaries and remains a beacon of creativity, innovation and cultural significance,” Artistic Director Chris Twite said at the time.

DarkLab’s Odeon Theatre in Hobart was crowned Tasmania’s Best Live Venue and Claire Anne Taylor took home the award for Best Live Voice in Tasmania.
The Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra took out the national award for Best Classical Act, while rock band Luca Brasi were voted the Best Live Act in Tasmania.

Sam Dowson took home the trophy for the Tasmanian NLMA industry award.
