Officers from Tasmania Police breath tested the woman, who returned a reading of 0.262 – more than five times the legal limit.

Police say her car was “significantly damaged” in the smash and had to be towed from the scene.

The woman has been banned from driving for 12 months and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to face charges of drink driving.
