Stony Rise Road, Devonport closed after ute hit by train

Stony Rise Road in Devonport has been shut after a ute was hit by a train earlier this morning.

Authorities said the vehicle was pushed along the track for several metres around 6am on Wednesday.

Police and emergency services are at the scene and have closed the road between Devonport Road and Durkins Road.

Police are diverting northbound traffic down Devonport Road and southbound traffic towards Durkins Road.

No serious injuries have been reported at this stage.

Significant delays are expected while the investigations into the incident continue.
