A woman has been charged after allegedly evading police in Bridport while disqualified from driving.
Police from Bridport and George Town arrested the 42-year-old overnight following the incident on Tuesday.
Police allege she evaded officers during an attempted traffic intercept around 7:30pm before fleeing into a licensed premises and then a nearby home.
She was later found at a residential address and arrested.
The woman has been charged with evading police in aggravated circumstances and driving while disqualified.
She will appear in court at a later date.
Her vehicle, a Volkswagen Amarok, was seized for six months.
“Police would like to thank members of the public for their assistance during the incident,” a spokesperson said.
“Anyone who witnessed a beige Volkswagen Amarok being driven in the Bridport area about 7:30pm or who has relevant CCTV footage is asked to contact police and quote OR 815390.”
