Two dogs have been rescued after a fire broke out at a public housing unit in Burnie this morning.
The Tasmania Fire Service received a Triple-Zero (000) call around 10:30am on Wednesday, after smoke was seen coming from the eaves of the Kentish Drive unit in Shorewell Park.

Firefighters from Burnie and Somerset responded to the scene, removing two dogs from the unit and giving the animals oxygen.
Crews were also checking whether the fire had spread to a neighbouring unit.
Tasmania Police said Kentish Drive was closed and asked drivers to avoid the area.
