The 16th annual Zombie March took place on Saturday

Hobart’s city streets were transformed into a scene from a zombie movie on Saturday as dozens of undead Tasmanians took to the streets for the annual Zombie March.

The march, now in its 16th year, began in Princes Park at 2pm, with participants adorned in elaborate and gory costumes showcasing their love for the zombie genre.

Fake blood, gashes and zombie movie characters are popular choices each year as the characters descend on the city.

The annual walk began in 2007 and has grown significantly over the years, with more than 300 participants at its peak pre-covid.

Onlookers were amused by the stumbling marchers

The marchers stumbled and shuffled their way through the city centre, much to the amusement of onlookers, before ending in Hobart’s Hanging Garden.
