Two Tasmanian radio talents have taken home top awards at the industry’s ‘night of nights’ this weekend, walking down the red carpet at the 35th Australian Commercial Radio & Audio (ACRA) awards.
Andy Tubes Taylor from Triple M Hobart took out the Provincial award for Best New Talent On Air.
Nic Groer from Chilli FM Launceston won the Country (regional) award for Best New Talent On Air.
The ACRA awards were held at The Star in Sydney on Saturday night, featuring radio stars from across the country.
In July, Dan Taylor and Christie Hayes from Hobart’s Hit100.9 along with Adam and Issy from Launceston’s Chilli FM were named finalists for Best On Air Team.
Karen ‘Kaz’ McMullen and Andy Tubes Taylor from Triple M Hobart were both named finalists for Best New Talent On Air, alongside Chilli FM Launceston’s Nic Groer.
Chilli FM’s ‘The Swear Jar’ with Adam & Issy was named a finalist for Best Comedy Segment, 7HOFM Hobart’s School Of The year was a finalist for Most Creative Station Promotion and LAFM/7SD’s Shane Brian was named a finalist for Best Music Feature with The Police Diaries.
