Following a ban that prohibited buses from entering Gagebrook due to dangerous rock-throwing incidents, another Metro bus has come under attack in Hobart’s northern suburbs.

The bus sustained significant damage to its windshield during the incident at the Jordan River Bridge in Bridgewater around 8pm on Tuesday night.

A witness told Pulse the “disgusting” incident had left the driver extremely shaken up.

It is believed the alleged attackers were loitering near the bridge before deliberately targeting the bus.

“Members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or have any dash cam footage of people at the Jordan River Bridge around 8pm [are urged] to come forward,” a Tasmania Police spokesperson said.

“Tasmania Police regularly patrols areas where issues have been identified by Metro staff, to help provide a safe environment for passengers and drivers.”

They said officers were working with Metro management to “investigate and resolve issues as they arise”.
