A ‘visibly drunk’ man more than 5x the legal alcohol limit has been caught after he was seen driving dangerously down a Hobart highway yesterday.
The 47-year-old from Roches Beach was stopped on the Tasman Highway by Police on patrol in the area on Saturday.

Officers say the man “presented as being intoxicated”, with a positive breathalyser reading of 0.252% – 5.04x the legal limit – confirming this.
His licence was instantly suspended for 12 months.
He is now facing charges for driving under the influence and exceeding the alcohol limit and will appear in court at a later date.
