A man who had ‘one too many’ alcoholic drinks on the first day of the long weekend won’t be allowed to get behind the wheel of a car for two years.
The 41-year-old from Ulverstone was allegedly over four times the blood alcohol limit when police found him crashed through a fence in the northern Tasmanian town on Friday.

Acting Inspector Craig Harvey said it was lucky no-one was injured in the incident.
“This is a concerning incident that could have had far more serious consequences, fortunately no one was in the yard of the residence the time,” he said.
The man had his licence disqualified for two years and faces several charges, including exceeding the prescribed alcohol limit.
He will appear in court at a later date.
