A 47-year-old man has been charged with high range drink driving after being intercepted by Tasmania Police on the Midland Highway at Tunbridge yesterday.
Police say a member of the public alerted them to the ‘erratic driving behaviour’ of a white Ute on the Midland Highway at Tunbridge at around 4:30pm.
After detecting the vehicle turning onto Mudwalls Road shortly thereafter, the man was intercepted and taken to the Oatlands Police Station for a breath analysis.
The driver recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.179 and was charged and disqualified from driving on the spot for two years.
He will appear in court at a later date.
