Elizabeth Street closed after car crashes into Hobart petrol station sign

A North Hobart street has been closed after a car left the road and ploughed into a sign outside of a service station this morning.

Emergency services are currently responding to the incident on Elizabeth Street.

Traffic is being diverted away from the scene at the intersection of Burnett and Elizabeth streets.

Police say no serious injuries have been reported but that “a medical episode” likely contributed to the crash.

“Drivers are asked to avoid the area where possible and follow the directions of emergency services,” they said.
