The final Sydney to Hobart yacht has just crossed the finish line, with Sylph reaching Hobart after 7 days and 19 hours at sea.

The race was a challenging affair for co-skippers Robert Williams and Chris Warren, who navigated their yacht through a mix of harsh weather and periods of slow progress along the East Coast.

Their journey finished in a calm but delayed finish at the River Derwent this morning, later than the initially predicted 3 am finish.

Despite the difficulties, the crew gained widespread attention and admiration for a unique reason, their feline shipmate.

Oli is believed to be the first feline to sail in the Sydney to Hobart.

Sylph secured 85th place in overall line honours, came 13th in the two-handed line honours category and achieved second place in the two-handed PHS division.
