Residents in the Snowy View Heights area near Huonville have been told to monitor conditions as a bushfire burns nearby.
The fire is currently not posing an immediate threat, according to Tasmania Fire Service, but is moving towards Chicks Perch.
As at 4pm Tuesday, the fire was uncontained and had a burnt through 16 hectares.
“Firefighters and aircraft are progressing well to establish containment lines and consolidate existing tracks within the incident area,” the fire service said.
10 firefighting appliances and aircraft are working to contain and extinguish the fire.
Firefighters are at the scene and monitoring the situation, with conditions “expected to be changeable”.
“Monitor conditions and if they get more dangerous and you are not well prepared, plan to go to a safer place,” a spokesperson said.
