A body, believed to be that of a man, has been found inside a burnt-out home in Tasmania’s north this morning.
Emergency services were called to the blaze on Collins Lane in Sidmouth shortly after 8:20am on Sunday, where the house and outbuildings were found engulfed in flames.
Firefighters battled the blaze, but sadly discovered the body inside the property.
While formal identification is yet to be completed, authorities believe the victim is the man who resided at the property.
A woman, also living at the address, was taken to Launceston General Hospital, where she remains in stable condition.
The Tasmania Fire Service is now working to determine the cause of the blaze.
Police say formal identification of the deceased is now underway and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
