The occupant of a Hobart home has reportedly made a lucky dash to safety after a fire broke out in the back of their Belar Street property this evening.
The eastern shore blaze sent smoke billowing out into the air just before 6:30pm on Monday.

A spokesperson for the Tasmania Fire Service said crews from Clarence and Hobart had been called to tackle the blaze.
They said the fire was reported to be burning at the rear of the house.

Updated 2pm Tuesday, May 21: Fire investigators have deemed the fire accidental due to an electrical failure.
They say those inside the house had safely evacuated before emergency services arrived.
The home was destroyed as a result of the blaze.
