Police searching for masked man after allegedly targeted Hobart shooting injures man

A masked gunman is on the run after allegedly shooting a man in a Hobart suburb this afternoon.

Police say the victim was shot in the arm at a property on Tollard Drive in Rokeby about 3:40pm on Saturday.

He was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital with injuries that are reportedly non-life-threatening.

Tasmania Police said the shooting appeared to be “targeted”, with the alleged gunman and victim known to each other.

Witnesses reported seeing the alleged shooter flee the scene wearing a grey hoodie and black face mask, driving a black mid-2010s Mazda 3 sedan with interstate number plates.

Police have cordoned off a section of Tollard Drive between Burtonia Street and Benboyd Circle as forensic teams comb the area for evidence.

“Police are calling for anyone with information, including relevant dash cam footage or CCTV in the area at the time of the incident,” a spokesperson said.
